Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 28, 2026
AdabStars ("AdabStars," "we," "us," or "our") provides a family routine and rewards application that helps parents and guardians encourage good habits, prayer, and character ("the Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Because the Service is used by families with children, protecting children's information is central to how we operate.
1. Who the account belongs to
AdabStars is intended for use by adults (parents and guardians). Only a parent or guardian aged 18 or older may create an account. Children do not create accounts and are not asked to provide information directly to us — a parent enters and manages all child profile information on the child's behalf and provides consent for that information to be processed.
2. Information we collect
- Account information you provide as the parent/guardian: your name, email address, and password (passwords are stored in a securely hashed form, never in plain text).
- Family and child information that you enter: a child's first name or nickname, an avatar (emoji or a photo you choose to upload), and the tasks, prayers, rewards, points, and progress you set up for them.
- Sign-in information: if you choose "Sign in with Google," Google provides us your name, email address, and profile picture. We do not receive your Google password or access any other Google data.
- Payment information (only if you subscribe to a paid plan): processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number.
- Basic technical data: standard log and device information (such as IP address and browser type) used to keep the Service secure and working.
- Usage analytics: anonymous, first-party information about how the app is used — for example, which sections are opened and when features like tasks or rewards are used. This helps us understand what to improve during our pilot. It is stored only in our own systems, is never sold or shared, does not include children's names, and can be turned off at any time (see “Your choices” below).
3. How we use information
- To provide and operate the Service for your family — showing each child's board, tasks, points, and rewards.
- To keep each family's data private and separated from every other family's.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To process subscription payments, if you choose a paid plan.
- To respond to your support requests and to communicate important account or service notices.
- To understand how AdabStars is used and improve it during our pilot, using the anonymous, first-party usage analytics described above. You can opt out at any time in Settings → Privacy.
We do not sell or rent personal information, we do not display advertising, and we do not use children's information for any advertising or marketing purpose.
4. Children's privacy
We take children's privacy seriously and design the Service to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws. Children's information is provided and controlled by their parent or guardian, who acts as the account holder and consents to our processing of that information solely to provide the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, and we do not condition a child's participation on disclosing more information than is reasonably necessary.
As a parent, you may at any time review the information associated with your children, correct it, or delete it — by editing or removing a child profile in the app, or by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your family's data as described below.
5. How information is shared
We share information only with service providers that help us run AdabStars, and only as needed to provide the Service:
- Supabase — secure database and authentication hosting.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Stripe — payment processing (paid plans only).
- Google — only if you choose "Sign in with Google."
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service. We do not sell personal information to anyone.
6. Data security & isolation
Each family's data is logically isolated so that one family can only ever access its own information, enforced at the database level. Data is encrypted in transit, and passwords are stored using strong one-way hashing. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
On-device encryption of your most sensitive fields. Certain private details — your children's names and birthdays, your personal notes and comments, and your home location — are encrypted on your own device before they are sent to us, so they are stored in our database in a form we cannot read directly. This protection is on by default for new families, with no setup required. You receive a one-time recovery code to keep somewhere safe; if you forget your password, signing back in unlocks your encrypted data automatically. Prayer times are calculated on your device, so your home coordinates are not transmitted to our servers, and any child photo you upload is kept in private storage rather than on a public link.
This is a "protected in Standard mode" design: because we help you recover access if you lose your password, the encryption keys can be reconstructed on our infrastructure, so this is not zero-knowledge or end-to-end encryption. You should not assume the Service is end-to-end encrypted.
7. Data retention & deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual child profiles or other content at any time. If you delete your account (or ask us to), we delete your family's personal information from our active systems, except where we are required to retain limited records by law.
8. Your choices & rights
You may access, update, or delete your information at any time within the app, or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information; we honor these requests as required by applicable law.
You can turn usage analytics on or off at any time in Settings → Privacy — it is on by default to help us improve AdabStars during the pilot, and turning it off stops this collection for your family.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated to account holders where appropriate.
